Dr Russell Carrington

Regional Manager - ACT and VIC

Dr Carrington has over 14 years of Health IP management and commercialisation experience across several hospital and health services, together with a background in medical research, biophysics, sports science and consulting project management. In the process, he has had to establish governance frameworks, policies, procedures and training programs to bring about a culture change.

Dr Carrington’s own research interests include cardiac assist (devices) and heart failure models. He worked in the CRC for Cardiac Technology concentrating on cardiomyoplasty and on mechanoenergetics of a ventricular assist device.

His previous biotech-based work experience was in biomechanical services for elite athletes, in sports science and medicine at the Australian Institute of Sport, Canberra. Dr Carrington also has project management experience in the commercial services sector, working with clients including KPMG, and in business processes in the IT services sector working with IT SME, Purruna Pty Ltd.
